Link Building Services: A Link Building Agency That Earns Every Link

Link building is the work of getting other websites to reference yours, because Google treats a link from a credible, relevant site as evidence that your page deserves to rank. Perth Digital Edge provides link building services inside its SEO campaigns for businesses in Perth and across Australia, from $2,000 a month, billed month to month with thirty days notice and no lock-in contract. Every link we build is earned. We do not buy placements, and we decide which pages need links from Google’s own numbers rather than from a hunch: we use data, we do not guess.

Earned links, and the kinds we will not build

When one website links to another, Google reads it as a reference. A link from an industry association, a supplier, a local newspaper or a well read trade blog says that someone with a reputation of their own vouches for your page. Enough of those references, pointing at the right pages, and a site stuck on page two starts to move. Too few, and even excellent content sits behind competitors that have been collecting references for years.

Google’s spam policies are clear about the shortcut. Buying or selling links that pass ranking credit is link spam, and a paid placement is supposed to carry a sponsored attribute so that it passes none. A purchased link that is not marked puts the risk on your domain as well as the seller’s. So we do not buy links, use private blog networks or link exchanges, submit your site to directories nobody reads, or drop comments on forums.

What we build instead are references a business can defend in daylight: editorial mentions earned through digital PR, links to content other people genuinely want to cite, listings in the professional directories your business is entitled to, and relationships with the suppliers, associations and community organisations that already know you. It is slower than a spreadsheet of purchased posts, and it is the kind of link building built to survive the next spam update.

Links do not rescue a broken site, either. Authority pointed at slow, thin or duplicated pages is wasted, so every campaign checks technical SEO and on page basics before the first outreach email. Link building is one part of the wider campaigns described on our SEO Perth page, not a substitute for them.

What Australians searching for link building are looking for

Ahrefs (Australia, September 2026) shows “link building agency” and “link building services” at around 1,000 searches a month each, and both searches show an AI overview. “Link building Australia” draws around 500 searches a month, “link building services Australia” around 350 and shows a map pack, “backlink services” around 200 and “link building Perth” around 100. The phrase “SEO link building” is searched about as often as the agency term.

The click costs show how hard agencies compete for those searchers. Ahrefs estimates about US$9 a click for “link building agency”, US$6 for “link building services”, US$15 for “link building Australia”, US$16 for “backlink services” and roughly US$65 for “link building Perth”, the most expensive term on this page. There is an irony in the difficulty scores: Ahrefs rates both of the thousand a month terms at zero, meaning the pages ranking for them hold very few referring domains themselves. Relevance and content decide a great deal, even in the market for links.

Which pages deserve links: Google’s data answers that

Many link building campaigns start with a target list of domains. Ours starts with a target list of your own pages, drawn from Google’s systems through Google Cloud.

01

Search Console API

The Search Console API returns every query your site has appeared for, by page and by position, well past the row limit of the standard report. In that data there is nearly always a set of pages sitting between positions five and fifteen with real impressions and few clicks. Those are the pages where authority changes the outcome, and they become the link targets.

02

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 shows which of those pages already turn visitors into enquiries, so links go to pages that earn money rather than to a blog post nobody converts from.

03

Keyword Planner via the Google Ads API

Keyword Planner volumes and click costs, pulled through the Google Ads API, put a value on each term so we know what a move from position nine to position three is worth.

04

Natural Language API

The Natural Language API shows the entities Google extracts from your page and from a prospective linking page, so topical relevance is checked rather than assumed.

05

PageSpeed Insights and Chrome UX Report

PageSpeed Insights, with Chrome UX Report field data, confirms the target page loads properly for the visitors the link will send. Around that sits Ahrefs, where we are an Agency Partner, for referring domain counts, competitor link gaps, lost link alerts and AI answer citations. Google tells us which pages need authority; Ahrefs tells us who is giving it to your competitors.

What our link building services include

01

Backlink audit and competitor gap

We map every domain linking to you and to the competitors holding the positions you want, then list the sources they share and you lack: association directories, supplier pages, industry publications, local media. Harmful links are flagged for a disavow file before anything new is built.

02

Link targets from your own data

Using the Search Console and Analytics figures described above, we choose the handful of pages where authority will move rankings and enquiries together, with anchor text that reads naturally, mostly your brand and the page’s plain subject, never a stack of exact match keywords.

03

Content people want to reference

Cost guides, local data pieces, calculators, explainer pages and original photography earn links because other sites need them. We plan those assets around the questions your customers ask and the gaps in what your industry has published.

04

Digital PR and outreach

We pitch journalists, editors, industry bodies and bloggers with a specific reason to link: a data point, an expert comment, a resource their readers need. Every email is written for its recipient, never blasted from a template.

05

Professional and industry listings

Many businesses are entitled to links they have never claimed: their industry association’s member directory, a licensing register, a supplier’s stockist page, the chamber of commerce, the sponsorship page of the club they support. We claim them with matching business details, which also helps your local SEO.

06

Monitoring, disavow and meetings

Links get removed, pages get redirected and occasionally a linking site goes bad. We watch for lost links, keep the disavow file current and, rather than send a report, meet with you to go through referring domains, target page rankings and the enquiries they produced.

Results from campaigns where links did their share

Project Concrete, a Perth concreter, launched a new website with SEO and link building built in from day one. In the first month 14 target keywords reached page one and the site recorded 62 conversions. By month three organic traffic was up 312 percent.

Castle Security, a Perth security systems installer, had its site rebuilt and then ran SEO, content and link building together. Traffic rose 364 percent, key events rose 185 percent, 109 keywords reached page one and the site now draws around 15,000 organic visitors a year.

Wholistically Healthy, a Perth health meal delivery business, combined SEO, web design, content and link building. Organic traffic rose 118 percent and conversions rose 51 percent.

Energetics Institute, a Perth counselling and psychotherapy practice, is an SEO result rather than a link case: we rebuilt its site of more than 100 pages in 2018 and then ran its SEO, and from barely ranking the practice reached positions one to three for many of its terms five years later, in the client’s words below. Benjamin Christie’s review describes the same approach: detailed analysis first, then steady activation.

From day one the team at Perth Digital Edge led by Benjamin Tippet have been not only been professional but super passionate at getting the best results possible. Their SEO services are process driven, from starting off with detailed analysis through to ongoing activation. Its this process that saw us jump in SERPS within the first few months.

Back in 2018, we engaged Ben Tippett and his team at Peth Digital Edge to totally revamp our website with a fresh theme and make it SEO friendly. It was a very big project as there were over 100 pages to be copied over, with lots of customisation to be done. At that stage, our website didn’t rank much at all on Google. As our industry is quite competitive, Ben made it very clear that it may take time, but with his efforts and advice to us, that he could get our website on page 1 for many terms. We trusted him and took him at his word and sure enough over the months, we found that we got more enquiries. Now 5 years later, we are inundated with new enquiries and on the top of Google either #1, #2, or #3 on page 1 for many search terms. We highly recommend Ben and his team. We have NEVER had an issue with him in the many years we have employed him as our SEO consultant. We found him to be very thorough, responsive, hard-working and professional. He is also very honourable and ethical, which are super important qualities to have, particularly in the SEO industry. Everything he predicted happened and every recommendation he gave us worked. We trust him implicitly with our website. He goes over and above to give us quality and excellent customer service. Even though his prices are competitive, he works consistently every month to continual improve our website, keeping it up to date with Google trends etc. We highly recommend him and his team.

What link building costs

We do not sell links by the unit, because a price per link is the economics of a purchased placement. Link building is priced as part of a monthly SEO campaign, with the outreach and content scaled to how much authority your market demands. Nothing is locked in, and it starts with a free audit that puts your referring domains next to your competitors’.

Option What it suits Investment
Free audit and backlink review Any business that wants to see its link profile against its competitors before spending No charge
Single site SEO campaign with link building One business in one area, or with one main service line $2,000 to $2,800 a month
Growth campaign with digital PR Multi-suburb, multi-service or larger sites where authority decides the rankings $3,000 to $5,500 a month
Link earning content assets Guides, local data pieces and tools built to attract references, produced inside the campaign Included in the campaign range
SEO training on outreach and digital PR In-house marketers who want to run their own link earning From $150 an hour plus GST

Where a campaign lands in the range depends on the authority gap the audit reveals and how much content has to exist before outreach has something worth pitching.

How a link building campaign runs

01

Month one

Analysis only. We pull your Search Console and Analytics history through the API, audit your backlink profile and your competitors’ in Ahrefs, check the technical health of the site and choose the target pages and content assets. You see the plan before any outreach begins.

02

Months two to six

Listings and entitled links go in first, because they are quick and they fix consistency. Content assets are written, designed and published. Outreach begins once there is something worth pitching, and the first editorial links land while technical and on page work continues alongside.

03

Month seven onward

Outreach compounds as relationships produce repeat opportunities and published assets keep earning references on their own. Targets are refreshed from the Search Console data each quarter, so authority keeps flowing to the pages closest to moving. Rankings built on links grow over months, not weeks, and we say so at the start.

Links, authority and AI answers

The search for this page opens with an AI overview, a reminder that references now matter twice. AI generated answers in Google, ChatGPT and Perplexity cite pages, and the pages they cite are usually the ones already ranking well, with the authority that links help to build. On 11 September 2026 Ahrefs counted 301 AI answer citations of our own site, perthdigitaledge.com.au, drawn from 44 pages. Slide & Glide, a Perth garage door installer whose program with us includes content and link building alongside SEO, was cited 592 times from 57 pages on the same day: 121 in Google AI Overviews, 71 in Perplexity and 38 in ChatGPT. No agency can promise a citation and we do not. We earn the references, count AI citations in Ahrefs beside rankings every month and raise them with you when we meet. Our AI search optimisation page explains the method.

Frequently asked questions

Link building is the work of earning links from other websites to yours. Google reads those links as references, and a page with credible, relevant references tends to outrank an equivalent page without them, especially for competitive terms.

Relevance first: the site should be about your industry, your area or a topic your customers care about. Then real traffic, real editorial control and a history of linking to things worth linking to. We check the entities on both pages with Google’s Natural Language API rather than relying on a domain score.

No. Google’s spam policies treat purchased links that pass ranking credit as link spam, and networks built to sell placements are the first thing a spam update removes. Every link we build is earned through content, outreach, PR or a listing your business is entitled to.

Google has to discover a new link, crawl it and reassess the page it points to, which happens over weeks rather than days. Google’s own documentation says it can take four months to a year to see the benefit of SEO changes, and we plan link work on that basis; the effect compounds as references accumulate, and the Project Concrete result above shows what a strong first three months can look like.

There is no fixed number. The audit compares your referring domains with the sites holding the positions you want, page by page, and the gap sets the target. A local trade needs far less than a national service business competing with established brands.

We monitor your backlink profile monthly. A lost link is noted and, where it was valuable, the relationship is revisited. A link from a site that has turned harmful goes into a disavow file submitted through Search Console, which asks Google to ignore it.

Link building is included in our SEO campaigns, which run from $2,000 to $2,800 a month for a single site or area and from $3,000 to $5,500 a month for larger sites and competitive markets, with no lock-in. We do not quote a price per link, and the free audit comes before any figure.
