Web Design Perth: Website Design Perth Businesses Can Measure
Web design is the planning, design and build of a website that brings in customers: it has to be found in Google, load quickly on a phone, explain what you do in plain words and make the next step obvious. Perth Digital Edge designs and builds websites for businesses across Perth from our office in Wanneroo, with simple small business sites from around $2,500, ecommerce builds from around $4,000 and custom designed WordPress sites from $6,995. You own the site, the domain and the content, hosting and maintenance are priced monthly, and every decision about structure, speed and copy is checked against Google’s own measurements, because we use data, we do not guess.

What a website has to do for a Perth business
A website has three jobs. It has to be found, which means Google can understand what each page is about and crawl and index it without obstacles. It has to hold attention, which on a phone comes down to speed and clarity in the first few seconds. And it has to convert, which means a visitor can see the offer, trust the business and call, enquire or buy without hunting for the button. Looks matter, but they are the entry ticket rather than the outcome.
Most of the sites we are asked to replace fail one of those jobs quietly: six services crammed onto one page so none of them rank, a video header on mobile with the phone number hidden below it, a checkout that demands an account before it shows shipping. Those are structure problems, not visual ones, and structure is where we start.
We build on WordPress for most projects, with WooCommerce where a store is needed and Shopify where a hosted platform is the better fit. Whatever the platform, the brief is the same: a site the owner can edit, that Google can read, that loads fast on real devices, with a page for every service the business wants to be found for and suburb pages where local SEO is the goal.
What the data says about web design searches in Perth
Ahrefs (Australia, September 2026) puts “web design Perth” at about 2,000 searches a month and “website design Perth” at about 1,400, with both showing a local map pack and a People Also Ask box. “Web development Perth” adds around 1,100 searches a month, “web designer Perth” around 450, “website developers Perth” around 200 and “web design agency Perth” around 150. Advertisers pay about US$6 a click for the two main terms and about US$7 for “web designer Perth”, which tells you how much agencies value one enquiry from these searches.
For context, the same data set shows “web design Melbourne” at about 2,700 searches a month, “web design Sydney” at about 2,600 and “web design Brisbane” at about 1,600, so Perth has about three quarters of the demand of the two largest cities. The map pack on nearly every one of these searches says people want a web designer they can meet, in their own time zone, who answers the phone, which is why our Wanneroo address is on every page.
We measure every site with Google’s own data
Speed claims are cheap. A lab score run once on a fast connection does not tell you how the site performs for a customer on a phone in a Wangara car park. So we measure the way Google measures.
Search Console API
The Search Console API gives us every query an existing site appears for, page by page, well past the row caps of the normal report, so we know which URLs earn impressions and must be kept or redirected with care.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages produced enquiries, so the new design keeps what worked.
Keyword Planner via the Google Ads API
Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API gives Google’s own search volumes for each service, which decides how many pages the site needs and what they are called.
Natural Language API
And the Natural Language API shows which entities Google extracts from the draft copy, so a page about pool fencing in Perth reads to Google as exactly that.
PageSpeed Insights and Chrome UX Report
The PageSpeed Insights API gives us the lab diagnosis for every page, and the Chrome UX Report field data inside it tells us how real Chrome visitors experienced the site: how long the main content took to appear, how quickly the page responded to a tap, and how much the layout jumped while loading. Google publishes the thresholds it considers good, Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint within 200 milliseconds and Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1, and we build to them on the mobile field data rather than the desktop lab score, then check again once real traffic arrives. The rest of Google’s data shapes the site before design starts.
What our web design service covers
Strategy and site structure
We start with your services, your customers and the searches they make, then map the sitemap around them. Every service that people search for gets its own page. Navigation is planned for a thumb on a phone before a mouse.
Design for conversion
Wireframes come first, then full designs for mobile and desktop. The offer, the proof and the way to contact you sit where a visitor expects them. No pop ups or moving banners that make people leave, and forms ask only for what you need to respond.
Copy and content support
Content decides conversion more often than layout does. If you have copy, we edit it for clarity and search intent. If you do not, we write plain language pages that answer the questions customers ask before they buy, checked against the Natural Language API so Google reads them the way you meant them.
Web development Perth businesses can run themselves
Most builds are custom WordPress themes without heavy page builders, so the site loads only what it needs and you can edit text, images, prices and pages without a developer. We build WooCommerce and Shopify stores where a store is the goal, and connect booking systems, CRMs and payment gateways as needed.
Speed and technical SEO built in
Images in modern formats at the right size, fonts handled to stop layout shift, caching set for the hosting, clean headings, XML sitemaps, schema markup and internal links are part of the build rather than an upgrade. If you later invest in an SEO campaign or Google Ads, the site is ready on day one.
Launch, training and support
We handle DNS, SSL and redirect mapping so an existing site’s rankings are protected during the changeover, then walk you through the admin. Every launch includes a 60 day free post launch support period for adjustments once real visitors arrive. After that, maintenance plans start from $495 a month and our own website hosting from $17.90 a month.
Results from websites we have designed
Perth Roofing Contractors, a Perth roofing business, came to us for a new brand and a custom built website. Website enquiries rose 240 percent after launch. The site scores above 95 for performance on Google PageSpeed, loads in under two seconds and works across phones, tablets and desktops.
Project Concrete, a Perth concreter, launched a new website, SEO and link building at the same time. Traffic rose 312 percent within three months, the site recorded 62 conversions in its first month, and 14 keywords reached page one in that same month.
Sell My Car Pro, a Perth car buying service, had its website, branding, logo and SEO handled together. Its new users climbed 320 percent. Within 90 days of launch 168 of its keywords sat on page one, more than 60 of them are still there, and key events, including completions of the online valuation tool, went up 285 percent, and the client says results started before any money went into ads.
Atmoss recorded 71 clicks from web search in the first two weeks after its new site launched, which is what a properly structured site does before any campaign begins.
Perth Tax Pro, a Perth accounting firm, received a custom website with five service specific pages, each built around its own searches, which then became the foundation for its SEO, content and link building.
What web design costs in Perth
We publish starting prices because “ask for a quote” tells you nothing when you are comparing agencies on a Sunday night. Every project gets a written scope and a fixed price before work begins, after a free audit of your current site and search data.
Page count, whether copy and photography already exist, the systems to connect and the amount of custom design move a project within these ranges. A website keeps working for years, so compare it against the enquiries it produces, not the cheapest template.
How a build runs
Scope and discovery
We meet, in Wanneroo or on a video call, to understand your services, your customers and what the current site does and does not do. We pull your Search Console, Analytics and PageSpeed data, agree the sitemap and write a scope both sides sign.
Design
Wireframes for the key templates, then full mobile and desktop designs. You see them, comment, and we revise until the direction is right before any code is written.
Build and testing
The theme is coded, content loaded, forms and integrations connected, and every page tested on real phones and against the PageSpeed Insights API before you see it.
Launch and the first 60 days
We schedule the changeover, put redirects and SSL in place, submit the sitemap and hand over the admin with training. Adjustments are included for the next 60 days, while we compare the new site’s field data with the old one’s.
Real reviews. A selection from our Google and Clutch reviews, each one exactly as the client wrote it. Read them on Google.
