Google Ads Melbourne: Google Ads Management Built on Conversion Data You Can Trust
Google Ads puts your business at the top of the results page for the searches you choose and charges you for each click. Perth Digital Edge provides Google Ads management for Melbourne businesses on a flat monthly fee scoped to your account, never calculated as a percentage of spend, with no setup fee and no lock-in. The account is run from Google’s own conversion, search and account data through its APIs, because we use data, we do not guess.
The most expensive fault in a Google Ads account is usually invisible from the dashboard: conversion tracking that counts the wrong things, or nothing at all, so every bid and budget decision is made against a number that is not real. This page starts there.

Why we start with Google’s data rather than the dashboard
The Google Ads interface summarises. It shows clicks, an average cost and a conversion count, and hides the detail that decides whether the account is making money. We work underneath it, connected to Google’s APIs through Google Cloud.
Search Console API
The Search Console API adds every query your site already appears for organically, page by page and past the limits of the standard report, which shows where paid clicks duplicate free ones.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 shows the path from click to enquiry, including the visitors who left, so a weak landing page is caught in the analytics rather than blamed on the keyword.
Keyword Planner via the Google Ads API
Through the Google Ads API we read the account as Google records it: every search term that triggered an ad, every ad that served, every conversion and what it was worth. Conversion tracking is configured so that calls, forms, bookings and sales register as separate actions that can be checked against what your office actually received. Keyword Planner, drawn through the Google Ads API, gives us Google’s own search volumes and click costs for each service across Melbourne’s suburbs.
Natural Language API
The Natural Language API confirms each landing page is understood by Google as the service and suburb the ad named, and the PageSpeed Insights API, using Chrome UX Report field data from real visitors, tells us whether the page loads before the person gives up. Read Google’s own data, act on it weekly, explain it in plain language in a meeting, not a report. That is the whole method.
The searches your Melbourne customers make
Melbourne’s two largest local searches in our data are tied. Ahrefs (Australia, September 2026) puts both “web design Melbourne” and “plumber Melbourne” at about 2,700 searches a month, at very different prices: about US$3.50 a click for the first and US$6.00 for the second. “Dentist Melbourne” follows at about 1,800 searches and US$2.50, “electrician Melbourne” at 1,400 and US$4.00, “family lawyer Melbourne” at 800 and US$6.00, “accountant Melbourne” at 700 and US$2.50, and “physio Melbourne” at 350 and US$1.70.
The spread matters more than the averages. A plumber and a family lawyer pay roughly the same per click but sell very different jobs, so the cost per enquiry each can tolerate is different and the account structure has to reflect it. A physio at US$1.70 a click can test suburb and treatment campaigns that a lawyer at US$6.00 would need to justify one at a time.
For the agency terms, “Google Ads Melbourne” draws about 1,100 searches a month and shows an AI overview, “Google Ads management Melbourne” about 700, and “Google Ads agency Melbourne” and “PPC agency Melbourne” about 400 each, the last with a map pack. Ahrefs estimates about US$8 to US$9 a click across those four.
What is included in Google Ads management
Tracking audit and repair
Before anything else we test what the account currently counts. Duplicate conversions, thank you pages that fire on refresh, call tracking broken by a website change and GA4 events that never reached Google Ads are all common. We fix them, then reset the baseline on real enquiries.
Campaign architecture
One campaign per service line, with budgets set by what each service is worth to you rather than what it costs to click. Emergency work, installations, repairs and quotes behave differently in the auction, and separating them stops the profitable searches subsidising the curious ones.
Keyword and match type strategy
We map the buying searches to exact and phrase match, hold broad match to the campaigns with enough conversion data to steer it, and build the first negative keyword lists before launch rather than after the money is gone.
Ads and assets that qualify the click
Headlines name the service and the area, descriptions say what happens when somebody calls, and call, location and sitelink assets give a mobile searcher a phone number and directions without visiting the site.
Landing pages measured in GA4
Each campaign lands on a page that matches the search, with the enquiry route above the fold and speed checked against Chrome UX Report data. If the current site cannot do that, our web design work builds the pages and we measure them alongside the ads.
Weekly optimisation and online meetings, not reports
Search terms are reviewed and excluded every week, bids move toward the ads and keywords that convert, Shopping and remarketing are added where the traffic and the margins justify them, and rather than a recorded report, you meet online with the person doing the weekly work to go through spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry and what we are changing next.
How the account runs, month by month
Month one
Audit or build, tracking fixed and tested, Keyword Planner research for each service and suburb, then campaign structure, ads, negative lists and budgets agreed against the enquiry value you give us. Nothing serves until the tracking counts a test enquiry correctly.
Months two to six
The weekly cycle runs and the account learns. Search term exclusions build, budgets shift to the converting campaigns, ad variations are tested and landing pages adjusted from GA4 behaviour. When we meet, we go through the movement in cost per enquiry with you.
Month seven onward
Scaling on evidence. New suburbs, services and channels are added where the conversion data supports them, and spend comes off searches the site has started to win organically, through the work our SEO Melbourne page describes. The account is judged on enquiries and their cost, never on clicks.
Results from the Google Ads work
Home Base, a Perth business, is the clearest example of what tracking does. After we corrected its conversion tracking, recorded conversion actions rose 24 percent and conversions rose 182 percent, with no increase in ad spend. The budget had been adequate all along; the account simply could not see what was working.
Therapy Partners, a psychology and mental health practice in Hong Kong, engaged us to restructure its account with a campaign for each service line and proper conversion tracking. Traffic from ads rose 20.3 percent and key events rose 14.4 percent, which also shows the method works across a far greater distance than Perth to Melbourne.
4×4 Extras, a Perth automotive accessories business, saw active users rise 161 percent and key events 186 percent, course sales rise 29 percent and cost per conversion fall 22 percent.
For Sense Recruitment in Perth, conversions rose 21.8 percent on the existing budget, with nothing added to the media spend.
For FencrGatr, a fencing and gates business in Perth, the Google and Meta campaigns returned 3.2 times what was spent on them, and quote requests and enquiries rose 215 percent across the wider campaign.
Anita Pages-Oliver engaged us to untangle Google Ads, Analytics and Tag Manager and to train her team to run campaigns themselves, on an hourly rate. Sell My Car Pro, a Perth car buying service, says its results from the website and SEO started before any money went into ads, which is the honest test of whether an agency will recommend spend you do not yet need. Adam Dean’s review below is short, and it says the two things we want every client to be able to say.
Google Ads management Melbourne: the fee and the media budget
Two amounts make up the cost. The clicks are billed by Google to your own account. The management fee comes to us as a flat monthly figure set after the free audit, based on how many campaigns, pages and tracking fixes the account needs. It never rises because you spend more with Google, there is no setup fee and there is no minimum term. Most small businesses should plan on at least about $1,500 a month in media, because below that the account rarely gathers enough conversions to learn from.
We publish the model rather than a price list because two accounts with the same budget can need very different amounts of work. The audit tells us which one you are.
