Local SEO Perth: Local SEO Services That Put You in the Map Pack for the Suburbs You Serve
Local SEO makes a business appear when someone nearby searches for what it does: in the map pack, the three listings beside a map at the top of the results, and in the organic results below for searches that name a suburb or say “near me”. Perth Digital Edge provides local SEO services from $2,000 a month for businesses across Perth and regional WA, month to month, with a free audit before you commit to anything. We work from Google’s own records of your site and your market rather than from hunches. We use data, we do not guess, starting with how the map pack itself is decided.

How Google decides who appears in the map pack
Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and popularity. Relevance is how well a Business Profile matches what someone is searching for. Distance is how far each business is from the person searching, and Google estimates it when they don’t share where they are. The third factor, which Google’s guide still explains under the name prominence, is how well known the business is, based on things like how many websites link to it and how many reviews it has.
Two of the three can be worked on. Relevance responds to a complete Google Business Profile with the right categories and services, and to a website that plainly describes the same things. Popularity responds to the two signals Google names: reviews, and links from other websites. Distance cannot be changed, which is why a business in Wanneroo is unlikely to appear in the pack for a Rockingham search however good its profile is, and why a business that travels to its customers needs suburb pages and a profile that reflects where it actually works.
Perth local SEO has its own shape: the metropolitan area stretches so far from north to south that the pack changes every few suburbs, so the work has to be done suburb by suburb.
The searches your Perth customers make
The biggest local searches in Perth, by Ahrefs’ count (Australia, September 2026), run to about 2,500 a month for “electrician Perth”, 2,200 for “plumber Perth”, 2,000 for “web design Perth”, 1,900 for “dentist Perth”, 500 for “family lawyer Perth” and 400 for “accountant Perth”. Most are answered by a map pack, and each has suburb versions that are smaller but closer to a phone call. Ahrefs puts a Google ad click at around US$7.00 for the electrician and plumber searches, US$6.00 for web design, US$3.50 for the dentist and family lawyer searches and US$2.50 for the accountant search, which is what a business saves each time a customer clicks its pack listing instead of an ad.
The service itself is searched heavily: “local SEO services” about 2,700 times a month across Australia, “local SEO” about 2,400 and “local SEO agency” about 2,000, according to Ahrefs. “Local SEO Perth” draws about 1,200 a month and shows a map pack of its own. Ahrefs rates the Perth term’s difficulty at 1 and “local SEO services” at 0, against 80 for the bare phrase “local SEO”.
Suburb by suburb, from Google’s own data
The detail local SEO depends on is in Google’s data, not in a rank tracker’s estimate.
Search Console API
The Search Console API, accessed through Google Cloud, gives us every query your site has appeared for, page by page, past the row limits of the standard report. Filtered for suburb names, that list shows which areas already send impressions, which page Google chose for each and where it ranked: a plumber sitting at position nine for “plumber Balcatta” with no Balcatta page is one page away from the pack.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 then tells us which visits produced a call, a form or a click on the directions link, so the suburbs that pay come first.
Keyword Planner via the Google Ads API
Keyword Planner, reached through the Google Ads API, supplies Google’s own volumes and click costs for every suburb and service combination, which settles which suburb pages are worth writing.
Natural Language API
The Natural Language API lists the entities Google extracts from a finished suburb page, so we can confirm it reads as “hot water systems” and “Joondalup” rather than as a template with a place name dropped in.
PageSpeed Insights and Chrome UX Report
Chrome UX Report field data, reached through the PageSpeed Insights API, shows how the site performs on the phones local searchers actually use.
What our local SEO services cover
Google Business Profile
Every field completed and kept current, including primary and secondary categories, services with descriptions, service areas, hours, real photos of your work and team, and regular posts, linked to the page on your site that matches it rather than to a homepage that mentions everything.
Reviews
A simple, repeatable way of asking every customer for a review once the job is done, and a reply to each one. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help a business’s local ranking, and reviews also decide which of the three listings gets the call.
Citations and listings
Your name, address and phone number made identical across the directories that matter, old listings corrected or removed, industry and association listings added. Conflicting details make Google less certain about where you are, and it shows you less often.
Suburb and service pages
A page for each suburb or area you want to win, but only where the data shows demand and only with content specific to that area: the jobs you have done there, the travel and pricing notes that apply, the questions locals ask, with local business schema and internal links to the matching service page. Thin duplicate pages are worse than none.
Technical SEO and local links
Mobile speed, crawl errors and duplicate pages fixed before content is added; then earned links from suppliers, local associations, sponsorships and local media, because Google counts how many websites link to a business toward how well known it is. Purchased links are not part of the work.
Results from local businesses in Perth and WA
Bears Fencing, a fencing business starting from scratch in Dunsborough, reached the top of Google inside three months of opening and, six years on, was still there, according to the owner’s Google review.
Castle Security installs security systems across Perth. We rebuilt its site and ran SEO, content and link building on top: 109 keywords now sit on page one, traffic is up 364 percent, key events are up 185 percent, and the site brings in roughly 15,000 organic visitors a year.
Energetics Institute, which provides counselling and psychotherapy in Perth, barely ranked in 2018 when we rebuilt its site of more than 100 pages. Five years later it ranked first, second or third for many of its search terms, according to the client’s review.
Guitar Lessons Perth, a Perth music teaching business, has worked with us for years on its website and digital marketing; its owner’s review below describes the growth over that time. Cottesloe Beach Chalets engaged us for a new website and search ranking work, and its review follows.
What local SEO costs in Perth
These are our published figures. No lock-in, thirty days notice to stop, and the free audit comes first so the quote reflects your suburbs and competition.
Single locations usually sit in the first range; metro wide or multi-location businesses sit in the second, because each suburb needs its own page, citations and outreach.
How a local SEO campaign runs
Month one
We read your Search Console data suburb by suburb, audit the Google Business Profile and every listing we can find, crawl the site, and record who holds the pack for each suburb and service you care about. Nothing changes until you have seen the findings.
Months two to six
The profile is completed and the review habit started in the first weeks. Citations are corrected, technical faults fixed, then suburb and service pages published in the order the data set. Link outreach begins once those pages exist. Nothing arrives as a video or a report: we meet with you and go over pack positions, organic positions and enquiries.
Month seven onward
Positions won so far are defended, the next ring of suburbs is added where demand justifies it, and reviews, posts and citations continue as a routine, because competitors keep gathering reviews too.
Local searches and AI answers
For the searches that produce local customers, the map pack still decides. Ahrefs (Australia, September 2026) finds no AI overview on “best plumber Perth” (about 100 searches a month), “best dentist Perth” (about 150), “best accountant Perth” (about 100) or “best family lawyer Perth” (about 200). Research questions are different: an AI overview sits on “how much does a family lawyer cost” (about 200) and “how to unblock a drain” (about 350).
So a local business needs two things from the same pages: a pack position for the buying search, and the plain, well structured content that AI answers cite for the research question that comes before it. Google’s own AI Overviews accounted for 52 of the 301 AI answer citations Ahrefs recorded for perthdigitaledge.com.au on 11 September 2026, and Google AI Mode for another 37; the 301 came from 44 pages. We track the same Ahrefs figure for each client every month alongside pack and organic positions, and talk it through with them when we meet; nobody can promise a citation, but the count can be measured honestly. The approach is explained on our AI search optimisation page.
